Registered Craniosacral and Stress Therapist
In January 2017 my daughter, Elodie, was born. Following a rather turbulent birth which took 4 days in hospital, countless intravenous drugs, tremendous amounts of energy and anxiety Elodie was born with severe reflux and allergy issues, wouldn’t feed, couldn’t sleep and was in a constant state of stress.
I had heard about Craniosacral Therapy through various sources, mainly for babies and following traumatic births and how through calming the nervous system it could ultimately help cure many structural, visceral and also emotional issues. On the pursuit to having Elodie cured of these issues through Craniosacral Therapy and other means, I eventually decided to try it out for myself as I was suffering with symptoms that I now know were that of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). I had migraines, bouts of insomnia and anxiety. As a new mother to an unwell baby I was constantly on high alert, living every day in a constant state of panic. I was totally unaware at the time of the detrimental effects this experience was having on my health. I was living in a constant state of stress, living every day in fight or flight, I was emotionally and physically exhausted.
The first Craniosacral session I received was truly profound, I immediately felt my body responding both mentally and physically. It completely opened my system up and I felt like I could breathe again.
That evening I slept for 12 hours my body started to heal.
My journey into studying alternative therapies started some years before, when I completed courses in Reiki 1 & 2 in East London. Following a series of treatments in Craniosacral Therapy I knew that I wanted to continue on this path, understand the more anatomical aspects of the human body and most of all help people to heal, so I made the decision to retrain as a Craniosacral therapist at The College of Craniosacral Therapy, in London.
Despite all adversity of which the pandemic was just one, the timing presented me with a huge opportunity, it forced me to delve deep, connect more with my inner strength and most crucially enabled me to live in the present. It was from this that Heal & Now was born. This journey during the most stressful period of our time inspired me to learn more about the ramifications of stress, what it is, the countless ways that it can manifest in the body and how with education and awareness it doesn’t have to be something that we just have to live with.
I don’t think anyone truly appreciates how stressed or anxious their systems are until they stop and listen and this is what Craniosacral Therapy allows you to do, it triggers an individual’s natural healing mechanism which helps to reunite mind and body and restore harmony, vitality and balance.
Craniosacral Therapy has been a life changing experience for me, the treatments I have received have allowed me to release so much of the stress and trauma that has been accumulated over the course of my entire life. I feel more balanced, more connected with my body than ever before and generally more aware.
I now believe that I’m on a truly significant journey to educate and help people free themselves of stress.
