The first session includes a written case study whereby I gather information about your health, past and present in order to gain an overall understanding as to why you have come for treatment and what you’re hoping to achieve. If you have come primarily for Stress Therapy then we will focus more on this element (see Stress Therapy page for more information on this)
I ask that you are fully dressed and wear comfortable clothing. Leggings or tracksuits, no jeans or skirts. You will lay flat on the treatment bed or sit if preferable. I work along the Craniosacral system which includes the head, along the spine and at the base of the spine at the sacrum with different gentle hand positions. (This is something that will be discussed in more detail during the first visit.)
Post treatment is an important time for self-care as there is a period of adjustment. People may experience immediate relief with others it can take more time.
It’s also important to avoid alcohol, drink lots of water, sleep and generally just listen to what your body needs. Craniosacral Therapy gets you back into the body so the feelings you have in the body will be more profound.
It is suitable for anyone from newborn babies to the elderly.
